We often get asked where our name Chinacake came from.
If you go to the Bagmati ghats in Nepal, you’ll find a holy man.
One day a little girl and her father went to pray at the Pashupanti-nath Temple. When the girl looked up, she noticed a man skilfully balancing a basket on top of his head.
The basket was piled high with magnificent, china cakes glittering in the sunshine.
“Look” cried the girl
“have you ever seen anything so beautiful?”
The Holy man nodded and smiled, “That’s known as a Chinacake…
a beautiful moment, captured in time”
And so just as film captures beautiful moments in time,
we took our name from the ancient word
Chinacake…
or so the story goes…
